A Few of My Favorite Things (part 2)

I find myself wasting a lot of time on blogs. Like way more than I'd like to admit sometimes. Don't we all? Well I'm fed up with it. So I thought and thought about how to limit my time wasting. Restricting my time on the internet? I toyed with that idea but couldn't figure out how to make myself accountable. Give up looking at blogs altogether? Not likely. Then I realized the thing that made me most frustrated about my time wasting is that I spent a lot of time looking at blogs that I made me feel like I needed things, needed to be more crafty, made me sad about what my life is really like. Which is really silly, because I LOVE my life. I love my house, I like my "style", although I love to "craft" I don't pump out things every other day. I'm me and I want to work on the things that are important to me: being a better mother, a better wife, developing my skills and talents. So I have limited my blog lurking to a few choice blogs that make me want to be a better person and a better mother.  These are a few of my favorite things:

What blogs inspire you?

  1. love this brit! so what i needed! my "favorites" list is a million miles long. time to eliminate. i followed your lead with eliminating friends from 10 yrs ago on facebook and im gonna do the same with blogs. i waste so much time and when im done, i just feel like i need to craft or sew and that whatever i do isnt good enough. time to get over that. thaks for the realization!

  2. I've been reading Life since I found it on your blog a few years ago. Yeah, I've been reading for years (plural). Kinda makes me feel like a stalker sometimes. Kinda makes we realize what I'm not good at sometimes, but in a good way, and pretty darn frequently inspires me. Thanks for sharing your other favorite blogs. And I totally agree, there are def blogs out there that if I read too much I end up feeling inadequate. Not such a good thing.

  4. I mostly read family blogs, but I am with you about understanding what it is you are accomplishing instead of worrying about what you aren't. I say that because I have way too many things I want to do (this week I was hoping to have molding installed, fix the toilet, inspect the attic, write a new chapter of my book, cook several amazing dinners, cross-stitch, teach kids piano...etc). At the end of the day I feel discouraged because I couldn't do hardly any of them, but by the end of the week I actually did get a few things done.
