Yikes

I "hope" President elect Obama addresses this:

...or I will be writing a huge, long, not-so-happy letter to his office. Why have we not heard more about this? What ever happened to "live within your means"?

p.s. I heard on NPR the other day that some school in the Midwest borrowed $165 million to invest in some overseas "fund" that ended up being bogus...WHAT IS WRONG WITH AMERICA?!

  1. Thanks for posting that link...it was pretty informative, but no suprise. With the average American having thousands of dollars of credit card debt, it falls in line that our government lives the same way. Obama's main item of agenda is the economy, so hopefully because he is a less experienced Washington politician he will be more aware of the huge expenses Washington has grown accustom to. I don't understand the "doomsday" feeling everyone has because Obama won, but at least we have a prophet to remind us to live within our means so we are not in the same situation as others. I can't help but think our food storage will come in handy if we had a second depression!

  2. Thanks for posting that video. I've been worried about the deficit for a while, but that really opened my eyes. I investigated a little more and wrote a related blog post.

  3. Yeah, we've got big problems. And according to Obama's website, he's promising even more spending on a multiplicity of programs. Urrg.
